“Newseum VR Meets: Defense and Diplomacy” will explore how virtual and augmented reality are used to communicate with people across the world and to train men and women for various roles in our national foreign and military services.

With the increase of 360-degree video, room-scale VR and AR applications, we will talk about how these emerging technologies are helping our diplomats and defense personnel do their jobs.

Panelists include:
• Christopher Dunnent, Director of the Office of American Spaces, U.S. State Department
• Paul Scharre, director of technology and national security programs, Center for a New American Security.

Newseum chief technology officer Mitch Gelman will moderate the discussion.

The program is part of a major Newseum conference series on the impact and future of VR and immersive technologies.
